This blog is dedicated to Bais Dovid Alumni who want to share memories, stories and vignettes (not the Rebbe from Phyllis Terrace) that were part of our childhood upbringing. Since most Bais Dovid alumni think that "alumni" means Tiferes Gedalyahu it might shock some to know that if you have learnt in Bais Dovid YOU are a Bais Dovid alumnus. Feel free to post your comments but PLEASE help us keep this blog clean. The blog will be strictly monitored to remove anything that doesn't "pas".
I just found a tape (no not a cd) of rabbi myski a"h telling the parsha from when i was in 1st grade. I was sick and my father sent in a cassete for him to make for me so i wouldn't miss too much. The tape is fascinating and it brought back great memories if you know someone that would be intereseted in this tape please email me at nmalinowitz@Gmail.com
Being a talmid of Reb SA Myski zatza"l as well, I recall him giving us a tape every week or so, of him telling the parsha. The tape had yoour name with a label, and every week he would take it back and record the next weeks parsha onto the same tape. I had him the last year he was alive, and from chanuka he was too ill to teach r"l, but we would still call to hear him tell over the parsha. We would also call the Keren Hachesed hotline # between certain evening hours, and we would hear a chazara of what we had learnt that day.
I believe that sof yamav, when Rabbi Myski was nebach not well, he would use that hotline to reach out to his beloved talmidim. He would say over things from the parsha and also stories. Yehi zichro baruch.
